Responsibilities

The Clerk's official functions include:
  • Maintenance and custody of the City's official records and history
  • Coordination of City Council requirements, including preparing agenda materials and minutes for City Council meetings
  • Maintenance of Election Superintendent duties and responsibilities

City Ordinances, Resolutions, Agendas, and Minutes

City Ordinances are maintained and updated by the City Clerk. You may access the Code of Ordinances electronically by clicking on the "Municipal Code of the City of Hiram" link on the left side of this page. Current Ordinances, Resolutions, Agendas, and Minutes can be accessed from the Archive Center by clicking on the "Agendas, Minutes, Ordinances, and Resolutions" link on the left side of this page.

Copies of City Ordinances, Resolutions, Minutes, etc. may be obtained by request to the City Clerk's office. Use the Open Records Request Form to obtain these copies.

Legal Notices

Legal notices for the City of Hiram will be advertised in the legal section of the Dallas New Era.

Open Records Requests

Requests for Police Department and/or Court records should be directed to Court Administrator Jason James, (770) 943-3087, ext. 2008, jjames@hiram-ga.gov.  Any other requests for records should be directed to the City Clerk. 

Individuals with disabilities who require certain accommodations in order to allow them to observe and/or participate in meetings, or who have questions regarding the accessibility of the meeting or the facilities, are required to contact the City Clerk at (770) 943-3726, ext. 2025 promptly (a week’s notice is preferred) to allow the City to make reasonable accommodations for those persons.
